Reborn - Yamamoto CHIBITA
Busy week. Was up til 3am on three successive days finishing my tutorials. Also a flu is going around the Law Faculty and my hall, and I've caught it. But this week, I:

1. Had my hair straightened. By a girl who adores Orlando Bloom. And she liked him when she saw him in Wilde! XDXDXD

2. Went to a club of own free will. Got back to the Hall at 12.45am, which is early by London standards. ^_^ Have discovered that all discos play these songs:

(A) Nelly, "Hot in Herre". The Law Faculty Thames trip DJ turned down the volume so that the boatload of inebriated would-be lawyers could yell, "I'm going to take my clothes off!"

(B) This song. I have no idea what it's called. But it goes: "If you want me to stay, I'll never leave" - and has a chorus of nothing but "Uh-oh".

Club was laid out like an arena. And it pumped a great deal of strawberry-scented smoke onto the floors. By midnight, you couldn't see clear air anywhere.

Went with four other girls and a guy. Halfway through dancing, this Strange Man kept trying to dance up to us.

3. Walked from my Hall to Leicester Square, then to Regent's Park, up Primrose Hill, to the zoo, then back to my Hall. Went with a fellow student and his hall-mate. Walked for five hours without stopping. Laughed an awful lot, especially when an eaglet fellow student thought he saw turned out to be a pigeon. Said student also has an interesting view of pets. When I protested that you couldn't keep a fish as a pet since you couldn't care for it when you went home, he said, "Just cook it before you leave!"

4. Discovered that my Hall is full of Orlando Bloom fans. Full.

And one of them has been going around saying that I'm obsessed with Orlando Bloom.

5. Had pizza last night in a hall-mate's room. Do not know how he manages to cram ten people into a tiny space. But he did it.

Obi-Wan was there. I took a picture. XDXDXD

And videos.

*giggles*

6. Have discovered that a hall-mate I know can see into my window. She knows I stay up late because my light is always on, and - you are never completely alone in Halls. She was, "You had a boy in your room last Friday!"

And I was, "I can't remember..."

(And I really couldn't, at the moment.)

Friday was the day we discovered that "porridge" means different things in London and Singapore.

Said boy ate Singaporean porridge with honey, anyway.

Flu? It is indeed a season for flu *pats pats and gives you warm mug of honey* Do take care and rest well! Hope your schoolwork is manageable >_<

Hope your fellow student doesn't mean to keep a clownfish, then. O_O Or that traumatizing picture of Nemo may come true.

Porridge with honey? Do they know about soy sauce? ^____^

And goodness, it is SO GOOD to hear from you!! *huggles* Missed you indeed I we do!
13th-Oct-2003 04:20 am (UTC)
I miss you.

Schoolwork is, as always, EVIL. So evil.

YES! That Nemo trauma! *glances at arrch*

He didn't like Bovril - so he had it with honey... *eyes him* He liked it, though.
13th-Oct-2003 07:23 am (UTC)
*whistles innocently*
14th-Oct-2003 03:07 am (UTC)
INNOCENT?!?!?!

That adjective is not yours to claim, Dooku...

ESPECIALLY not after your newest icon invention!
13th-Oct-2003 04:08 am (UTC)
Yes, their version of porridge has... oats? or wheat? instead of rice, yuck. (I think they call Chinese porridge "congee") And eating Chinese porridge with HONEY? Double yuck, WHY was he eating it with honey? XP

A guy in your room? *raises eyebrows* Or was she looking at the wrong room? XD

The fish: That's SUCH a heartless attitude to take to a pet. *howl* XD

Been spoiled for Fool's Fate's ending. Ish not good. Have you read them yet...?
13th-Oct-2003 04:19 am (UTC)
Yes! It's oats! And true, they call it congee.

*giggles* He was eating it with honey because he didn't like Bovril, and battered the dace I was eating with the porridge just to show me how hard it was.

And then he said, "Since you call it porridge, I should eat it with honey!"

*hides* My room. He's a guy whose room we invade on a regular basis.

Exactly! *comforts* Poor fish!

OMG. I know Fool's Fate is out this month, but I've yet to see it. And you've been spoiled? And it's not good? *cries*

All I want to see is the Fool and Fitz together.

*hides from you*

But I knew I was never going to get that.
13th-Oct-2003 04:26 am (UTC)
Hmm, brainwash me with the book when you get back, non? I'd lov to know about what interests you so.

Porridge and bovril! A staple I lived on when I went off milk after 3 (years old, that is)! *niko niko*

Make sure he doesn't spill the honey on his pants, or we'll have another wave of jokes ^_~
13th-Oct-2003 04:57 am (UTC)
YES! I WILL SHOW YOU THE BOOK!

aingeal_isilme likes it too!

AND IT IS SLASHY! XDXDXD

*giggles* Oh yes. They had a similar joke with his pants when they were sprayed with toothpaste - or was it shaving foam...

I still like porridge and Bovril! And there's Bovril in the UK, where we can't find any back home anymore!
13th-Oct-2003 05:02 am (UTC)
We can't find Bovril here anymore, but there's Marmite XD It's the same thing. My mother followed some cooking tip she learnt from KL Malaysia and added a spoonful of Marmite to chicken while cooking. Really tasty :D I should do that some day and show you.
14th-Oct-2003 03:09 am (UTC)
Cool! ; ) That would be lovely! ; )

Want me to buy Bovril back for you? ^_^
14th-Oct-2003 04:46 am (UTC)
It's all right *pat pat* We have bovril chicken, and I'm not a big beef fan. :D Come back and I'll cook bovril/marmite chicken for you to try!
15th-Oct-2003 09:25 am (UTC)
I'm definitely looking forward to that!

*hugs you*
13th-Oct-2003 07:20 am (UTC)
And aingeal_isilme says she's not a slash fan. We should corner her and make her confess.

"Do we proceed?"
13th-Oct-2003 07:59 am (UTC)
How can she be pro-L/S and be NOT a slash fan? o_____O
15th-Oct-2003 09:29 am (UTC)
THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE!

SHE MUST BE!

AT LEAST, TO A SLIGHT DEGREE!

ISILME!!!

(Yes, once I got started I couldn't stop, as you can see)
15th-Oct-2003 09:27 am (UTC)
She... She has to be at least partly slash-inclined! L/S is slash!

PROCEED!!!

Heh, no real need, actually. Actions (and art, and fic, and fandom) speak louder than denial. ^_^
13th-Oct-2003 04:28 am (UTC)
The spoilers are on the fitz_is_stupid community. My friend read them and told me. No, it's NOT good. And Fool's Fate is out now? In London? ... If you don't watch it, my friend will ship herself over to join you. XD

And hey, I sort-of ship Fitz/Fool!
13th-Oct-2003 04:53 am (UTC)
*cries* What a pity! That was a gorgeous story Hobb had there.

I hear it's to be out in October, but I haven't seen it in bookstores yet. Australia gets it early, though - and I'm not there!

Your friend may ship herself over any time she pleases! And you, too! *beams*

I ship Fitz/Fool! Definitely! ; )

They're perfect for each other!
13th-Oct-2003 05:09 am (UTC)
Oh well... I suppose we should give her the benefit of doubt. Maybe she IS good enough to pull it off and do it well, but since I wanted Fool to have a happy ending... ;_;

And how can anyone not like Bovril? XP (Admittedly, they don't sell beef Bovril in Singapore anymore. My dad has to buy some back for us from China...)
13th-Oct-2003 05:15 am (UTC)
There's only marmite now, and it's chicken -_-
Ah well.

Eleris : Porridge - get salted fish to go with it!! XD *loves salted fish. I wonder if you're able to get some you tiao to go with it too...it'd taste so much nicer and at home with those things*
*looks at the little bit of atapchi left in the fridge...T_T*
15th-Oct-2003 09:35 am (UTC)
*comforts*

Get more atapchi! ; )

*smiles* You and your atapchi...

There's you tiao in Leicester Square! Was so surprised to see it. And apparently, here, they put vinegar on the char siew buns.

Yep! We can get salted fish with black beans, here! I can't believe it! ; )
16th-Oct-2003 04:41 am (UTC)
Atapchi porridge? O.o

Vinegar on charsiewpao? Er... in th pao, maybe still sounds ok. Oh and I realised my canteen labels it as "vinerar" *grin*
18th-Oct-2003 08:48 am (UTC)
*repeats after Faol*

Atapchi porridge?? O_O

If they put vinegar, it could be to keep the bao longer, since vinegar is used in suchi to preserve the rice for a longer time (or at least, that's the origin of sushi but now it's a delicacy instead of a back-pack food)
15th-Oct-2003 09:32 am (UTC)
I wanted the Fool to have a happy ending, too!

Alright, I admit, I just wanted him to end up with Fitz.

I wanted Fitz to have a happy ending, though.

They don't! We are deprived! I shall bring some back! ^_^
13th-Oct-2003 06:19 am (UTC)
Zhiyi is currently pestering me for a christmas fic...so anyway, what do you want for christmas? Pairing, Fandom, word limit, other requirements etc etc?
15th-Oct-2003 09:22 am (UTC)
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU!!!!!!!!!

You were so asking for it.

*dies laughing*

Skinner/Tom. Write as much as you can - WAH. Not a drabble. 3000 words, too, if it's not too difficult.
13th-Oct-2003 07:21 am (UTC)
Why does your hall sound so fun? My life is so dreary that I actually look forward to going to Uni, because that's the only time I get to see the merry-band.
15th-Oct-2003 09:21 am (UTC)
It's just my floor. We all agree it's the friendliest floor in the entire hall. Also, many of them get drunk on a regular basis, which is why.

But you have your Master! And you have the Nemo Sushi-Maker! Your life is fun, too! Immensely! *hugs you*
15th-Oct-2003 09:24 am (UTC)
Yes true, but you can have fun while you're home! While I lay myself to waste in front of the bright liquid crystal display.
16th-Oct-2003 04:44 am (UTC)
As do I ^^;

All hail the Heathen God of the LCD screen! We offer our eyesight in slow sacrifice!
13th-Oct-2003 10:55 am (UTC)
And we thought we were living in sin and squalor *LOL*

*sweatdrops at your pet-fish cooking friend* I remember what happened the last time I forgot about my pet fish when I moved house. I came back to find them looking like the cursed pirates on the Black Pearl under the moonlight, except there was no moonlight. ick.

Our lecturer asked us to write down who our hero was for an informal survey thing. And I think about half the people said Legolas *bangs head against wall* Someone said Jack Sparrow though *grin* And someone (I suspect it's the cat-basher) said Neil Gaiman. Some people didn't realise they were supposed to write their heroes there (the survey was done together with a quiz) and they wrote "Tutorial Group 7" *smirk*

Singaporean porridge with honey? O.o Er. Well as long as it was plain porridge, I guess that's ok - I once ate cheese with porridge because I couldn't find anything else in the house and I was too lazy *laughs*
15th-Oct-2003 09:17 am (UTC)
You mean you aren't living in sin and squalor?

*mock horror* My Professor. You amaze me. Have you not already corrupted your entire Hall? ^_^

I love that description! Only No Moonlight. XDXDXD

JACK SPARROW! JACK SPARROW!

Oh, but Neil Gaiman IS SO COOL! He has all the most amazing ideas. I heart him.

*DIES LAUGHING* Professor, I look forward to everything you write. And what you just wrote about Tutorial Group 7 is why. ^_^

LEGOLAS?!!?!?! *DIES LAUGHING AGAIN*

Cheese with porridge! I didn't think you'd do that! *impish grin* Was it good?
15th-Oct-2003 04:33 pm (UTC)
It's hard to corrupt my hall when I'm not there most of the time ^^ but the choir is coming along fine *smirk*

Neil Gaiman is cool, but that fan of his is so not. Insult to Neil Gaiman and Tolkien, having that guy as a fan.

It was very.... cheesy. Almost as bad as my teacher, who once ate instant noodles with cheese for the same reason I ate cheesy porridge.
16th-Oct-2003 04:31 am (UTC)
The choir is corrupted? Can we get them to sing 'We Wish You A Slashy Christmas and a Ratal New Year'?
Or 'Deck The Halls With Lots Of Slashings'?

*niko niko*
16th-Oct-2003 04:35 am (UTC)
"Now we don our gay apparel, falalalalalalalala~"

*grin*
18th-Oct-2003 08:55 am (UTC)
*continues next line of the song*
"Tis the season to be slashy falalalala lala la la~"

*thinks*

"Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay~"

This one too. No need to change anything. Maybe 'merry' to 'slashy'.

Damn, now 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen' has changed to "God Slash Ye Merry Gentlemen' in my mind.

What a Christmas.
18th-Oct-2003 09:13 am (UTC)
"Come all ye slashers, joyful and triumphant~
Oh come ye, oh come ye, to Ratal~
Come and behold this community of slashers
Oh come let us behold this oh come let us behold this
Oh come let us behold this, the Rataliens~
13th-Oct-2003 03:38 pm (UTC)
Hair straightened? Hmm, that is a must-see. : )

ahahahaha.

o__O Orlando bloom fans? You'd be right at home then. : )

Eh your hostel sounds so fun!
15th-Oct-2003 09:20 am (UTC)
I took pictures! ; ) It's not permanently straightened, though - it's back to normal, now. Back to Messy. ^_^

EVILNESS. Me right at home? But then, last night at dinner, I found that another Christina from Greece was into Orlando Bloom. And it was:

Her: "ORLANDO BLOOM!"

Me: "ORLANDO BLOOM!"

The Both of Us: XDXDXD

Your place is fun, too! No one here games! They're all busy being drunk.

Last night we sat out in the corridors and did our best to block the passageway. One guy turned himself into a starfish to do that. ; )

And this boy and I wrestled over MY NEMO. He abducted MY CLOWNFISH. I TOOK IT BACK. MINE.
15th-Oct-2003 04:52 pm (UTC)
Heheh, okay....

^____^;; see, you're right at home.

well, the only reason why we game is... drinking is boring.

starfish!!
16th-Oct-2003 04:37 am (UTC)
He turned himself into a starfish? Did he manage to turn himself back? XD Sorry, am very literal today.
