Reborn - Yamamoto CHIBITA

This means that when I get home, I'm going to threaten everyone with the Spider-man 2 DVD set.

ALSO. The particular HMV from which I bought this set was showing Spider-man 2 with subtitles on their wide-screen televisions. The screen was such that it displayed only the first line of dialogue for every shot. I stood there and almost died laughing when it showed me this:

So this is how it should start:

And then:

And then, this scene turned up:

Well, I can't say I'm surprised, Peter.

And I've never been able to read this line of dialogue correctly.

Hee! Love the subtitles.
28th-Nov-2004 05:16 am (UTC)
Thank you! *grin* Glad you liked them! If you ever get the opportunity to see them on widescreen format, go for it. *evil grin*
28th-Nov-2004 05:03 am (UTC)
WTF??? Haha, from the DVD itself? What regional code is it?
28th-Nov-2004 05:17 am (UTC)
*grin* YEAH. From the DVD itself. It's a Region 2 disc - Western Europe. I couldn't actually screencap the subtitles, so I took up my digital camera and started taking pictures of my computer screen. *is lame* *dies*
28th-Nov-2004 05:19 am (UTC)
O_O! UK uses region 2 as well, what happened to it man...
28th-Nov-2004 05:25 am (UTC)
At least I think it's Region 2, because that's what my DVD player attempts to set itself to every time I put in a DVD I bought in the UK. *hides*

Heh. I just went for DVD-Region Free - never have to bother with regions again. XD (Only, if you're ever ripping DVDs, don't install the ASPI-layer program because it seriously messes up the region-free function. I did that and had to fix it. *winces*
28th-Nov-2004 05:32 am (UTC)
I don't think they have many region 2 DVDs here, and it's even less likely if you got it from HMV...

Haha maybe it's region 3? Asia region? The number is written at the back of the DVD cover in a small globe thing.
28th-Nov-2004 05:36 am (UTC)
OH - *checks box* - Thank you. *grin* I never knew the right way to check for DVD codes - yep, it's Region 2, all right!

OH! I just realised - I'm in the UK now - studying in London, which explains why I get Region 2 DVDs from HMV. Apologies for the confusion!
28th-Nov-2004 05:43 am (UTC)
I found the entire thing amiss somehow, hahaha! I forgot you're in the UK... Calcium Kid DVD never made its way to Singapore after such a long time, people have given up on it.
28th-Nov-2004 05:51 am (UTC)
's alright! *grin* *apologises again* It would've sounded strange to me, too! kannazuki was telling me that in Singapore they were selling the Spider-man DVD with calculators at the back of the DVD set. I almost died laughing. Though I couldn't help but think it amazingly cute.

*startled* The Calcium Kid DVD didn't come to Singapore? I saw the VCD there, so I always assumed the DVD would have followed... Want me to get it for you? (Hopefully I'd be able to find it in the UK? XD ) Heh. You, nutty_elf and elfverie are my Fandom Indicators. *grin* You tell me where all the good things are. And you're always up to date on Orlando. *grin*
28th-Nov-2004 06:39 am (UTC)
Haha, yes! Calculators! Silly things... I don't know who would buy the entire DVD set just for the calculator really.

And yes, it didn't come to Singapore! I got the VCD and the DVD though... My friend got the DVD for me after I got the VCD so I'm probably going to dispose of the VCD soon.

And I was just grumbling about the slowpokeness because elfverie and I wanted to stalk HMV and place the DVDs in prominent places like I wanted to do with the VCDs (too few of them on shelf) buy it as a very belated birthday present for nutty_elf. :D

I'm not up to date with the Bubblicious!Hollywood!Orlando (Billeh says he smells of bubblegum and that he's 'bubblicious') much nowadays except for the fact that he's probably still in London.

I don't know who would buy the entire DVD set just for the calculator really.

In the depths of insanity which fandom puts me into, I might actually do such a thing. *grin* My Fandom Made Me Do It is one of my favourite defenses.

*smiles* I'm glad you got both! For some reason, that happened to me for Tobey Maguire films. For three Tobey Maguire films, no less. London seems to have skipped the VCD phase entirely and gone straight from video to DVD. (DVDs, shockingly enough, are cheaper here on offer than they are back home. You can get a fairly popular one for S$15 - 18.)

stalk HMV and place the DVDs in prominent places like I wanted to do with the VCDs (too few of them on shelf)

SO I'm not the only one who wants to do these things! *grin*

(Come to think of it, I do do them.)

(And I rearrange items on a shelf when I like them. I'd arrange Tolkien books in my school library and in Popular. *laughter*

*grin* I think she'd love it. The birthday present, that is.

*laughter* The last I remembered, he was in Morocco, so I'd be even more out of date. Bubblicious!Hollywood!Orlando makes me SMILE.

Billeh says he smells of bubblegum
*giggles* I can't help but think this strangely appropriate. XD

In the depths of insanity which fandom puts me into, I might actually do such a thing. *grin* My Fandom Made Me Do It is one of my favourite defenses.

Er... Come to think of it, I would do it too. *sheepish grin* I blame it on fandom as well, haha!

And I rearrange items on a shelf when I like them. I'd arrange Tolkien books in my school library and in Popular.

!!! I rearrange them in Kinokuniya! Do you know the size of Tolkien's books have shrunk from 4 columns to 3 now? :'(

Orlando being bubblicious appropriate? Maybe it's the sickeningly sweet way he treats everyone *gags*. I'm becoming anti-Orlando ever since he changed his watch, even more recently when he started attending BEYOND THE SEA premieres... Waste of all my money in the past :x

I think the Calcium Kid DVD is in Singapore @_@ heard my friend talking about buying it or something.

Meanwhile, I go BWUAHAHAhAHAHAh at the last pic! So odd!! I mean the subtitling that is.
28th-Nov-2004 06:05 am (UTC)
I thought it'd be in Singapore too. *wonders at the vagaries of DVD-distributors*

*GIGGLES* I KNOWWWWW. That's exactly as Harry says it, though - It just makes me think spectacularly strange thoughts. *laughter*
28th-Nov-2004 06:39 am (UTC)
Haha someone said they saw it in Laserflair but nobody else saw it o.O
28th-Nov-2004 08:43 am (UTC)
Laserflair sometimes has weird\lesser known titles in region 1 format. ^_^... but it's only limited stock. ^^.i noe this because me and kannazuki stalk the one at tampines. ^^.

28th-Nov-2004 09:04 am (UTC)
*comforthugs* If I drag my computer over to EOY, I'd show it to you. I probably wouldn't have gotten it either, if I had any self-restraint at all. *laughter* *hugs*

Glad to hear you caught the hamster, by the way! ; )
29th-Nov-2004 08:23 am (UTC)

28th-Nov-2004 08:32 am (UTC)
If not for Nemo sitting there in the background of the photo, I would have thought your first photo looked good enough to be a professional photo ^^

Only the DVDs there get nice interesting non-calculator freebies? Not fair!

*melts* When you're the one telling me this, I know I've made it. *hugs you* I'm surprised, and very honoured. *grin*

(HEHEHEHEHEH. I think I was too excited about photographing Spider-man to take Nemo out of the way. )

Only the DVDs there get nice interesting non-calculator freebies? Not fair!

XD I'm sure we get the same back home! *grin* (Heh. This was a box set you had to pay more for, so they weren't really free, but I love them. *hearts*)

The calculator was so cute. kannazuki was on the verge of getting me one, then realised I'd probably have it already. XD
28th-Nov-2004 04:40 pm (UTC)
I miss you woman. Come home soon. =D
5th-Dec-2004 03:58 am (UTC) - I MISS YOU TOO. *HUGS YOU TIGHT*
