Up to my eyeballs in solicitor-ethics lectures this week, which also marks the one month + one week anniversary of my being put intensively on this case which has eaten my mind with its closing arguments. I obsess as badly about work as I do about the series I love, except that I do not obsess about the series I love thirteen hours a day, five days (and sometimes more!) a week. I can't actually seem to shut off about work even when I leave the office, so I could be waiting at a traffic light and find myself thinking, How can I work that case in, How am I going to handle that point, Did I address that issue adequately?

☆ MANGA REC #1: Mirai Nikki: diaries that tell the future and the battle for them.

To my complete shock, I managed to really like the main female lead despite her looking like this and being Generally The Sort of Annoying Manga Girl I Thought I Loved To Hate. I think she's kickass and obsessive, and a large part of this I blame on reading morphaileffect's The Tenth Diary - a Gokudera/Tsuna slanted crossover between Mirai Nikki and Reborn. I'm not sure if I love the female lead because I equate her with Gokudera, but: ( this is why I loved Mirai Nikki more because it reminded me of Reborn. )

★ MANGA REC #2: ULTIMO, the manga lovechild of Hiroyuki Takei (responsible for Shaman King) and Stan Lee. Rec'd by lacewood, here (read for more series information and the creative process behind this manga). I fell in love with it upon sighting the first panel. Imagine it as an Eternal Battle between Sync from Tales of the Abyss and the lovechild of Luke from Abyss and Tsuna from Reborn. ☆ Summary and Screencaps for KKM Season 3 Episode 82. This episode involves Greta acquiring a pet bearbee she names, of all things, Yuuram. This episode is basically Gremlins Does KKM. Right down to DON'T TOUCH THE WATER IT MAKES CUTE THINGS GO BAAAAD. Every week, no matter how silly the plot, no matter what other people think of the episode, no matter what, period: this series FORCIBLY reminds me of why I fell in love with it, why I still love it, and why I will love it forever. BECAUSE LOVE LIKE THIS NEVER DIES.

GUYS, GUYS, I've just watched this movie called Stormbreaker and it is the MOST HILARIOUS SILLY-RIDICULOUS parody of British spy movies I have EVER seen. It stars Ewan Mcgregor, Stephen Fry, Bill Nighy, Mickey O'Rourke and the prettiest beautiful new blond thing I have ever laid eyes on. Pretty Blond Thing's name is Alex Pettyfer, and I would choose him for Tidus for the way he makes me feel, except he is (a) too pretty for Tidus, (b) too smart for Tidus, (c) too serious for Tidus, (d) just wrong for Tidus. The only thing he has in common with Tidus is that he is (a) very blond, (b) very pretty, (c) very young. His mother was a model, and he was a model for Ralph Lauren and GAP, which explains why he looks so ridiculously pretty in all his movie shots. He turned down the role of Eragon. ... HOW MUCH PRETTY are we missing out on that we could have had because of that decision!? (Shh, don't tell me it was smart of him to turn down Eragon. I just want PRETTY. I don't NEED smart!)

Speaking of FFX, elvaron has just linked me the MOST AMAZING Auron/Braska fic ever. You know there are those stories where you know you'll love them within the first ten lines? Yep! This is one of them. It's by ciceqi, whose FFAC work I adore, and I loved it even though I barely know anything about Braska yet (THAT WILL CHANGE).

Also, kotomine and I are trying to find as many badly+hilariously subtitled movies as we can, and between us we have:

Today I met lonedreameryaoi for the ( My City By Day Tour )

Met up with nescienx, who very kindly put up with me going cloth shopping at Arab Street (God, I love Aik Bee Textiles). We tried out the Fabric Flash Test: trying out how fabric looks under camera flash (you have got to know before you buy it!). nescienx came up with the idea, WHICH IS BRILLIANT. The very nice uncle was incredibly tolerant, many hearts to him!

Then to my place to meet up with aingeal_isilme. ♥ I honestly can't think of a better way to spend a torrential rainy afternoon than indoors with tea and two computers and anime and two of my most favourite people in the entire world. Especially since nescienx will be leaving again on Monday (cries!)! But I cheerfully subjected them to substantially the whole of Gurren Lagann, and and and: nescienx gave me The Office and Dexter *THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH ♥* and I gave her Supernatural and I AM SO HAPPY AT THE FANDOM EXCHANGE.

ohmyGod. nescienx showed us The Fire, from The Office, and ( (cut for long incoherent Office EEEEEEEEEEE) - IT WAS EVEN BETTER THAN I IMAGINED IT WOULD BE. )

... WHY is it that it seems like at least 30% of YOU GUYS were into YGO long before I ever heard of it? If I go back through playthedamncard's entries to 2006, I FIND SO MANY OF YOU THERE?!
